Compelling reading: The Inclusive Growth and Development Report 2017

Lathasha Subban, SABPP Head: Knowledge and Innovation, submitted this week’s report.

The World Economic Forum has published “The Inclusive Growth and Development Report 2017.” The issues related to growth such as education, labour and skills feature prominently within the report; these issues truly resonate with South Africans. The great part about the report is the tools that can be utilised for change and implementation. Even though we are but one country, we must not forget our part on the global stage.”

Editor: This report makes for compelling reading. South Africa’s rating of 70th out of 78 countries surveyed drives home very strongly, just how unequal South African society is. We need to create inclusive growth in South Africa. Increasing the national skills pool is at the very heart of this quest.
