McDonald’s SA to host Talent Connect Breakfast

 McDonald’s SA, in collaboration with Talent Talks, will be hosting the Talent Connect Breakfast on Thursday, 8 March 2018 at their 85 Grayston Drive offices in Sandton. The event will cover conversations around Human Capital, Marketing and Business Culture. McDonald’s is renowned for its training throughout the world. They have trained and employed over 10 000 South Africans with various levels up to NQF 5 with accreditation, including Franchisees, Restaurant Managers and Crew.

The breakfast will cover the evolution of McDonald’s SA over the last 22 years, with keynote speakers including Greg Solomon – CEO of McDonald’s SA, Daniel Padiachy – Chief Marketing Officer, and Brigitte da Gama – Chief People’s Officer.




Greg Solomon, Chief Executive Officer of McDonald’s SA:

Greg Solomon started his career as a Civil Engineer. He joined McDonald’s in 1996 where he was a project manager in the Construction Department. During this time, he was instrumental in the building of some of the first McDonald’s restaurants across South Africa.

Greg leads by example and manages his business through his people, with a focus on accountability and profitability. His leadership has resulted in five successive years of revenue, market share and profit growth. Greg’s unwavering drive has also seen him elected as Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of McDonald’s South Africa Pension and Provident Fund. Greg was also a finalist in Boss of the Year 2011 and was named the Institute of People Management CEO of the Year 2011 and a finalist for Jewish Business Man of the Year 2012.


Daniel Padiachy, Chief Marketing Officer of McDonald’s SA:

Daniel Padiachy has more than 10 years’ experience in Marketing, Consumer insights and Strategic Leadership.

He is a member of various associations that include, the Marketing Association of South Africa (MASA), the ASA (Advertising Standards Authority) of SA, the Institute of Directors in Southern Africa (IODSA) and the Chief Marketing Office Council (CMO) of Africa. Daniel is also an advisor to UNISA Marketing Faculty on their marketing curriculum. He is passionate about people and business and enjoys spending time mentoring and coaching the young people.

Under Daniel’s leadership, McDonald’s was recognised as the Sunday Times Generation Next Survey Coolest Brand in SA 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 within the Coolest Brand Overall category.


Brigitte Da Gama, Chief People’s Officer at McDonald’s SA:

Brigitte Da Gama has over two and a half decades of experience in the Human Capital field and has worked in the Higher Education, IT, Investment Management, Banking and Hospitality sectors.

She previously served on the Council of the University of Cape Town and she is currently the Chairperson of the Board of Directors for a non-profit training and development company that serves impoverished farming and rural communities.
